I go to all over the country and the world wherever there is a wall, and create earthen walls with the utmost care using "the local clay" and "hands".
体験・個展
土をこねて壁に塗る。
大人も子どもも体験できるのが土壁づくりです。
ワークショップを通して「土」に触れる。
個展を通して知らなかった「土の力」に気づく。
そんな「人と土との出会いの場」をつくるため
時には国を越え、様々な活動を続けています。
Experience / Exhibition
Kneading clay and paint it on walls. Both adults and children can experience creating clay walls. Through the workshop, visitors will get in touch with "earth". Through the exhibition, visitors will discover “the power of earth” that they did not know existed. To create such a "place of encounter between people and earth” I continue to carry out various activities, sometimes across countries.

野田肇介
１９７８年北海道浦河町生まれ。
小学生時から父の元で左官業の手伝いをして育つ。
世界的に活躍する日本屈指の左官職人
久住有生氏に衝撃を受け２５歳で弟子入り。
その後浦河町へ戻り野田左官店にて土の仕事を始める。
北海道をはじめ日本各地で
その地の土を生かした土壁を手がけるとともに、
文化財修復、アート制作、ワークショップまで幅広く行い、
土の魅力と伝統技術を広めることに力を注いでいる。
PROFILE
KEISUKE NODA
Born in Urakawa, Hokkaido in 1978, Noda was exposed to plastering at an early age, learning the basics through assisting his father in the family business. He found himself mesmerised by the work of Naoki Kusumi – one of Japan's most prominent plasterers – and at the age of 25 became his apprentice. He would later return to Urakawa to start his own career in earthen plastering.
Noda works with local materials from Hokkaido and across Japan when creating his clay walls (“tsuchikabe”), utilising their characteristic properties in his craft. In addition, he has dedicated himself to sharing the beauty of clay and traditional artisan skills, taking part in restoration projects, art instalments, and workshops.

近くの森へご案内することもあります。
そこは、生命を育む土と
瑞々しい空気に満ちたありのままの自然。
自然を塗り込み、感じる暮らしをつくるのが土壁です。
Company Profile
My atelier is located in Urakawa, Hokkaido. The Hidaka Mountains in the north and the Pacific Ocean in the south. Magnificent nature is our daily scenery. I sometimes take our customers who want to know about "life with earthen wall" to a nearby forest. There, the nature is just as it is, full of life-giving earth and fresh air. Earthen wall is to paint the nature on and create a lifestyle where you can feel it.
